Golden Milk Recipe: The Ayurvedic Morning Ritual with Ginger & Ceylon Cinnamon
Posted on July 03 2026,
Golden Milk is one of the most well-known Ayurvedic morning rituals. This warming drink made from plant-based milk, turmeric, ginger, and Ceylon cinnamon is not only delicious but also a wonderful start to the day.
What is Golden Milk?
Golden Milk is a traditional Ayurvedic drink that has been enjoyed in India for centuries. The golden color comes from turmeric – combined with ginger and Ceylon cinnamon, it creates an aromatic, warming drink that is perfect as a morning ritual.
The Basic Recipe
Ingredients for 1 serving:
- 250 ml oat or almond milk
- 1 tsp Organic Turmeric Powder
- ½ tsp Organic Ginger Powder
- ¼ tsp Organic Ceylon Cinnamon Powder
- 1 tsp coconut oil or ghee
- A little honey or maple syrup to taste
Preparation: Heat all ingredients in a small pot over medium heat and stir well. Do not boil. Pour into a cup, optionally froth – and enjoy.
Why Ceylon Cinnamon Instead of Cassia?
True Ceylon cinnamon has a milder, sweeter aroma than the cheaper cassia cinnamon. It fits perfectly into warm drinks and porridge without being overpowering. Our Organic Ceylon Cinnamon Powder is organic quality and ideal for daily rituals.
Variant: Hibiscus Latte
For a fruity-floral alternative, we recommend a Hibiscus Latte: Simply steep Organic Hibiscus Flowers with hot water, strain, and top with frothed plant-based milk. Beautifully red, slightly tart, and perfect for the afternoon.
